Back in November I found a really fantastic online deal for the Tree Room restaurant up at Sundance. So I kept it a secret for forever (I'm not very good at keeping surprises from Chris so this was a big accomplishment for me) and saved it for a special occasion. The Saturday before Valentines Day Chris was taking a practice DAT all morning so I decided to surprise him like I used to when we were dating. In his lunch I packed that morning I put a leaf in it with a sticky that said it was a hint for what we were doing tonight. Then, I left a paper hearts trail from his testing room (its really handy knowing all of his email passwords so I can find out this information) all the way out to his car and officially asked him out for that night.
Surprise honey!
He got home that afternoon and had no idea what was going on.
We got dressed up all fancy and set out for our date and Chris was blindfolded.
His smug attempt at not wearing the blind fold. Nice try.
I chose my route well and it threw him off until we got going up the canyon. He thought we were heading to Park City until we turned off way too early. Sundance was pretty much the only option left and he guessed it so the blindfold came off early.
At the Tree Room we ordered their signature drinks and Chris had the elk and I had the duck (which was absolutely divine but will never order again...fatty is all I have to say). It was such a beautiful restaurant and we loved cuddling on the couch during our meal.
Spending such a fun night together reminded me of just how much I love him.
I guess that's kind of the point of Valentine's Day huh? Any excuse I have to setup fun things like this I take advantage of 100%. That's why I love any holiday!

On the actual V-day we went to breakfast at Kneaders, Chris surprised me in my office with gorgeous roses, and even had another surprise up his sleeve when I got home that night--he really went over the top and I loved it. After he got home from his DAT prep we had a cozy night in filled with subzero ice cream, our favorite movie, and a sleepover in the living room. No complaints about this day.
