General Conference Weekend

This was taken one year ago when Chris and I were dating. I was actually going to break up with him and then he changed my mind. Oh how I'm glad he did :). I never would have guess that we would be getting married in the temple behind us in 6 months. It's amazing what changes in a year...

I always love general conference so much! It is such a fun tradition for the family to get together in Salt Lake to attend the sessions and go shopping. This weekend was especially great for Chris and I because we got to see both of our families!

Friday after our classes were over we picked up Michael and went up to Park City to met Rob, Sherrie, Chelsea and Scott. We skied a half day at Deer Valley and it was BEAUTIFUL. It was the so warm and sunny. Both Chris and I got a little burned. It was the perfect ski day to end on and we even got Sherrie to go down the Daly Bowl!

We got back to their house and cleaned up for dinner. Rob and Sherrie treated us to the Riverhorse on Main and it was such fabulous food! (See the ski post) After we walked over to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and got caramel apples. Sherrie was nice enough to buy some for me to bring back to my family. Chris and I said goodbye and headed off to Salt Lake. What a great day.

Chris and I stayed in the Embassy Suites with my parents and Christopher and Natalie. The boys all got cozy on the bed watching the Jazz-Lakers game.Saturday we went to the morning session with my parents and it was so fun to be in there all together. Mom had her binoculars and was checking out all of the general authorities wives. Gotta love her:)After the session we went to the food court and got some lunch. The boys went off to Mr. Mac to get suites (I still haven't seen the one that Chris got) and mom and I grabbed some frozen yogurt and headed off to Deseret Book. There we met Del Parson and bought one his beautiful prints. He wrote the story of the painting on the back; he painted this during President Hinckley's funeral and this is the face he imagined Christ having as he greeted him--"Well Done." It's such a beautiful print--I can't wait to get it framed and put up.*Mom Taking Over Del Parson's Spot**My Mom Also Got Me This Cookbook. BEST THING EVER! Chris and I made the Brazillian Lemonade last night and it was delicious. Highly Recommend it.*The girls took a trip down to Rod Works and Tai Pan while the boys were at Priesthood session and we met back up in Deseret Book to head off to dinner. We did the usual (P.F. Chang's) but I think we'll change it up next year. Sorry Christopher. :)
(Not sure what happened to Chris in this picture...oops)
Sunday we ate the fabulous breakfast they have at the hotel and went to Michael's to watch conference. Him and Kristine treated us to a yummy dinner and then mom and dad left for the airport. Chris and I hung around for a bit and played games. We left for Provo later that night to start another week of school. Talk about having the Sunday night blues.

After this weekend I felt so blessed to have such wonderful parents and in-laws. They give Chris and I more than we deserve and don't do enough to thank them. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!
